Do you just want an entry porch or something running partially or all the way across the front? Either could be accomplished with the overhang. The simplest entry porch is a gable with the eaves aligned with the overhang and two posts at each corner in front. A longer porch would probably just have a sloped roof running up to just below the second floor windows and with posts in front every 6 to 8 feet.

We are also looking into putting something on the vinyl and shutters to bring them back to life. Hopefully that will help too. I like the inside and love the location, but I have not a fan of the way it looks in the front. So any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

An entry porch will define the entry and provide protection from the weather at the front door. A larger porch would also provide an area to sit and enjoy the front yard and view if there is one. The larger porch would cost more, of course. Either would add to the curb appeal of your house. Additional landscaping in lieu of all the grass would also help.
