During remodel of our kitchen, there was a space next to our fridge that we wanted to make use of. So we decided to put a 6" filler cabinet in this space. It fit perfectly. Now, problem is that it looks a bit strange in the wall. We didnt put the face of the cabinet in yet, because we think it might be best to make this drawer NOT look like it's part of the rest of the kitchen cabinets.

I was thinking maybe don't put the cabinet face on at all, add a piece of plywood or something to attach handle to, and then paint the entire wall with chalkboard paint? But my husband doesn't like the chalkboard idea - thinks it will look messy.

Any thoughts?? We're at a standstill because of this.
