I think your stain looks great...Don't think u need contrasting trim..but I like the look u have going on..

I like your ideas on color don't know about a red door but can always change that use evergreens along with flowers to keep year round color and textures ... If you have a porch use nice outdoor furniture with pop of color on pillows

I find that much wood overpowering. I have a cottage with cedar siding, brown fascia, shingles etc and Got my husband to add larger trim boards, painted a dark blue and the doors a dark green. It looks awesome

you could do the railing cap in a solid stain or paint. I cant see your eaves ery well so dont know if they are stained or not i've seen homes where the eaves are done in paint or lighter stain. The stain is starting to look a ittle weathered you could have it redone to a lighter color and accent the ban across the middle with a darker color including the top of the railing caps.

You folks are awesome! So many great ideas. I will think on them all. We are smack dab in the middle of a cul-de-sac on a hill so you look up and this house is all you see as you drive onto the street. The houses on either side are redwood too. So hard for me to picture this all. My eaves are a quiet tan color.

You could do so much to change it and make it pop . What part of country are you in?

Because it is stained added small sections in paint is not going to look good. You best bet would be painting the fascia a dark color, brown, black green, etc Coating all the wood in a transparent exterior stain would deepen and enrich the tones that have now come out in the wood, even things out a bit and allow the disparate woods of the siding and railings to look quietly different. A fun front door color? Certainly!

The Color People - some great ideas. I've been thinking about Deep Bronze #62 by Benjamin Moore. Someone described it to me - but I can't find a chip. I'll have them make up some. You guys are awesome.

Thanks for the compliments the color on the cedar is actually a stain I'm not sure if that's what you Are looking for. It's made by Sikkens the product is called log and siding the color is called natural. I'm not sure what you are putting it on. If you have any questions I am happy to help

I would stain the horizontal bands ebony for contrast.

Hi Rockin'.... I was asking about the color of that thin horizontal fascia?..roof line, horizontal band. On my house it's where the gutters are..... that little contrast color.

Matt! Glad you weighed in. I originally thought about the belly bands being a dark color - deep bronzetone or darker - but most folks said it would chop the house in two. I am now rethinking it again! :-)

This is a different style house..but the dark trim looks good with the wood siding.

Personally for your house I would lighten the siding up and add darker trims like in jayme's picture
