I would wait till you have your table in the room before deciding if/need a hutch.

And judy - no idea on chairs either! I like the look of two bigger upholstered wingback chairs for the heads of the table... but not sold on anything particular yet..

Not sure if you have considered a Buffett Table verses the hutch.
I've attached some pictures for you. The Buffett table allows you to decorate the wall various ways. And use the table in a variety of ways (lighting, space for more food, etc...).

Can you give me measurements of your room, the table and where openings are and how wide they are. You need 24" for slide back of chairs from edge of table then additional space to move around behind chairs when guests are seated. I will do a layout to help you understand what will fit well and help you prevent mistakes.

Ok so after thinking it all through I may opt for a sideboard in black on the smaller wall (there's currently a photo hanging there now)... and just do large art on the bigger wall. I do need some sort of storage for china, but don't necessarily need a bigger hutch. thank you all for your help! Now to find art and chairs....

Table is nice but not liking the first china cabinet you're considering at all -- especially the finish -- go with the second china cabinet because when the wall is wide, your cabinet usually needs to be wider and both the style and the finish on the second china cabinet is much nicer.
