Really lovely quilts! I love how the first quilt's center seems to glow. And making a quilt larger - wow. That's something I'd hesitate to try, but you'd never know yours was enlarged. You did a fantastic job.

These are all so pretty. What a work of art to be able to increase the size of the quilt.

Do you make your own labels. For Christmas I made my 3 daughters Christmas table runners. One asked me to put a label on it and sign my name to it.

I just gave my granddaughter her quilt that I made for her for when she got married and it went out the door with out a label at Christmas.

Yes, I do. I design the labels in MS Word and print it actual size on paper. I trace
it on Sulky Solvy, pin it to the fabric, put that in an embroidery hoop
and ‘FMQ’ it. I will say that I find it very time consuming compared to
FMQing impromptu designs. I am happy knowing it won’t fade with
washing.

FMQ – free motion quilting

In this case, I set my machine up as for quilting but with embroidery thread,
embroidery needle (and the obligatory hopping foot with feed dogs down).

I use the regular straight stitch
for outlining letters, a satin stitch for filling in the solid letters and s.l.o.o.o.w.l.y trace everything. Calls for great concentration and I usually end up with my jaw aching from holding it too tensely.

Last thing I do is wash the quilt. The Solvy washes away and I can repair any oops before I give it away.
