Haha, Theresa. I guess it's only partially true, because I'm heading out to the kitchen now. Five o'clock is the official start of the cocktail hour around our house.

Log Cabin blocks are my favorite ones to make. If I was told I could only make one kind of quilt for the rest of my life that's what I'd pick. And I love scrappy. Can you tell I like it?

Love your blocks...you have inspired me to consider cutting my scraps, I'm not there yet, but I'm considering it as a project for my retirement years.

Nice, Lois! You could make some 6" blocks with your shorter strips and make a really unique LC layout.

Donna, that's a really clever idea. I would never have thought of that. I could also use them for a border. I've got six of the big ones made already.

Valarie, that would make a great retirement project. I agree, Rita, LC blocks are so versatile.

Maybe I should get train plane automobile directions to your place and show up with my stash-a-grande. You can whip up some quilts for us while I cook, garden and watch you for inspiration. (Is there a vitamin Q?)

You have made perfect light/dark Log Cabin blocks, Lois, and they are fantastic! Welcome to the addiction of scrappy. I've made a few 3" Log Cabins but no pictures yet.

Here are the 20 blocks for my scrappy log cabin lap quilt. I may put a border on to make it a little larger, but maybe not. I really like the look of it as is. I think maybe a bright red binding. I checked, and there is a little piece of fabric from all 50 of the quilt projects I have made. The only exceptions are two Christmas tree skirts that I made. The fabric was very Christmassy and had metallic gold in it. I'm saving those for Christmas log cabins. (I still have a lot of strips left.)

I have a cabinet full of 4" and 6" fabric sample squares. Thank you for inspiring me to make a scrap quilt that may get me out of this creativity and non-quilting slump!
