We just moved into a an older house that for some reason has a dining room where the junction between the walls and the ceiling is curved, sort of a cove effect. We want to paint the walls a bolder color but don't think it would look good to have the same color on the ceiling. Our painted pointed out that this presents a problem as there is no real good spot then to transition between colors. Any suggestions on how to solve this? My only thought was maybe add a large crown molding all the way around to cover up the curve, but I'm not sure if that is feasible. I've attached photos of the curved area I'm talking about. The curve goes all the way around the top of the room.
