If I went with the Toulouse or Big Daddy nightstands, what would you recommend for a dresser? Same style? Mix it up?

Where is your project located and what type of budget did you have in mind for the dresser? There are a lot of good options, but we might as well start with the basics.

I'm located in Wisconsin and my budget is around $3000 for two end tables and a dresser.

Don't see your posting of the PB side tables/dresser but it might be an issue on my end. I'm trying to tell if the headboard is grey or beige? If beige... (don't know how the size would fit). Just might give you some thing else to consider - or not.

Thank you! The headboard is a beige color. I like those mirrored options you provided TedBixby. What would you do for a dresser to go with these? I'm not a huge "matchy-matchy" person which is where my dilemma is really stemming from. I don't know how to tie the two pieces (side table and dresser) together to make them go with the overall look of the room but not have everything match...

Dang it. the source says it is out of the matching dresser for the 1st one. I know you said you don't want matchy-matchy but sometimes with these "rare" type of finishes it is better to match than drive yourself crazy looking for something. That being said, I'll still look tomorrow and in the mean time maybe some other houzzers will chirp in with further ideas :)

Can you tell me approx max width for the nightstands? And do you like the lighter finished wood over going with darker? I still don't see your PB ones that you asked about. Are they still a consideration? If so, tell me what ones they are and I'll go look.

Would something like this be a possibility over a dresser? Just looking at all options.

I have plenty of room on both sides of the bed so I'm not too concerned with size for the bedside tables. The pottery barn tables I originally said I liked were the Sausalito set (http://www.potterybarn.com/products/sausalito-white-wash-wood-extra-wide-dresser/?cm_src=nightstands-bedside-tables%257Cdressers) but after "seeing" it in the room (from the mock ups), I'm not sure I like it as much anymore. I do really like the original look you recommended with the mirrored bedside tables. I think that has a really elegant/classic look and goes well with the nuetrals. However, a couple I've found online don't have a dresser that matches and I'm worried it'll look like a "funhouse" if I start to put mirrored everything in there :) Thoughts?

In regards to the dresser, I would prefer a more horizontal shaped piece than vertical (if that makes sense?). If I went with wood, I like the look of the 'lighter' wood as you listed above. I think this goes well and makes the room feel lighter/airier. Thoughts?

Got it regarding the dresser. Interesting that we both are thinking lighter wood for your room. I'm wondering if the grey on your bed is the issue in the mock up? And the white lamps aren't helping as your trim looks more creamy white than white?

Based on the size of you room I don't think lighter or darker is going to make a difference. Contrast can always be done with accessories, bedding and wall paint. All of which can be changed out over the yrs a lot easier than the case goods. So buy what you love for a dresser and night stands. If you have any hesitation, move on. When you see it, you'll know. Just like the headboard, right?

If you could take a further away photo in better light of you bed and without the grey on it, hopefully er612 will pop back in and photo shop those sausalito ones back in. Darn, I really need to learn how to photoshop.

IMO- those mirrored ones you listed I think you could do better. Keep in mind too, that if the top is mirrored they are going to show fingerprints and dust..

I've added another photo of the room without the mattress on the bed as I think this helps give an idea of the space since the bedding is so easy to mix out. We currently don't have the gray quilt on the bed.

The trim on the windows is a white trip, maybe a slightttt cream tone but mostly white. Hard to see with the light shining through. The walls/ceiling are painted a cream/nude color which makes the white trim pop even more.

Regarding mirror - I know what you mean regarding showing fingerprints. That might drive me nuts as we have stainless steel appliances in our kitchen and THAT drives me crazy ... not sure I can handle major printing on two floors ;)

@er612 - LOVE the look of the first option mixing the two. Are those both Pottery Barn?

Completely different than what you have been looking at but I think it is so modern yet timeless. And yes, the dresser matches but with the different lines on the night stand it isn't matchy-matchy. It's so yummy... and if you don't think so, I'm ok with it-lol.

And then maybe a lamp with the "mirror" finish that would pull the brass and silver (nailheads on your headboard) metals together?

Hooker is a "better" quality in the good/better/best paradigm. If you would like me to look at quoting the pieces out I am happy to see what kind of discount I can work out.

I've had Hooker pieces and have always been happy with them. One reason I like Hooker is that I feel overall their pieces are stylish but tend to be timeless. Hooker has it's own identity, too as they don't look like something everyone else is selling. Budget is important but consider your bedroom furniture is going to be something you will have a lot longer than say a sofa. You can go with less expensive lamps, bedding, etc for now but at least you have a good solid foundation to work with and one that you love. You don't want regrets by purchasing something that will "do" as it fits the budget and end up thinking of the Hooker every time you look at what you settled for. See, I can justify any purchase. Just ask my Hubby-lol. Hopefully, Formal can help you with that pricing.

The round mirror is also from PB.

We put a Hooker armoire in our master bedroom because this one had a very large heavy shelf that could be pulled out and swiveled for viewing our tv and still we could shut the double doors and not have to see the tv. Well one night we almost lost our Dobie as the shelf gave way and the television hit the floor but luckily Prince, our Dobie, was very agile and was up and out of the way in a flash. Also from many conversations with various local salespeople (prior to the accident) we definitely got the feeling that Hooker was not high-end furniture, and this was confirmed by certain details lacking or unfinished with the armoire delivered to us. Maybe HOOKER has improved in the last 10-12 years

Hooker is certainly not "high-end" when compared to the top (and most expensive) companies out there but that doesn't make it "budget" either. There is plenty of room between a Bentely and Yugo.

What did you end up choosing? I found this thread because we have the same bed and I'm shopping for nightstands now. I have a darker wood dresser and don't want my nightstands to be too "matchy" either. I have been looking at the Toulouse Nightstand from PB. Check out this product from houzz - https://ml.houzz.com/FbQD3hDBfN ... houzz is a great app because you can use the "see it in my space" button that is below each product. you take a photo of your room as is, then keep flaring in more products using the plus ( window treatments, art, Etc). You'll be able to see an entire layout of your room. You can even layer the different products, similar to photoshop. that might help you make your decisions.

@margolaird - we ended up choose the Etagere Nightstands from PB (link below) - they look great and don't match it too much plus add some elegance to the room. For the dresser, I ended up going with the LOUIS XVI 4-DRAWER DRESSER BURNT OAK from Restoration hardware (linked below). It has a similar metal as the nightstands and is very simiple. I'm happy with what we choose. I hope that helps!

I love your choices! I've looked at that nightstand on PB's website a ton of times and never noticed that the shelves were mirrored. I thought they were glass. I had been considering the Maison Nightstand from Restoration Hardware in Antiqued Coffee, but it is really out of our budget, especially since I need two. It is very similar to your dresser.
