Need Mason to build my basement within budget

Lifting our house by 8 feet and need a mason to build new block walls all around and pour a 4-inch slab. All estimates are coming in way over budget! Not sure how to proceed. We have a FEMA grant and thought $100K would be plenty for budget. All other contractors are giving us reasonable prices but the masons are coming in around 60 - 70K! Any suggestions?

Use AMVIC insulated Concrete forms for a fast foundation and less cost, no need for mason or block. Clad the ICF with any cladding you want, wood, concrete board, stucco, stone etc Bill@pacificicf.com

Thanks for your advice. I was told that we cannot use poured concrete to hold up our block house.

I was told that we cannot use poured concrete to hold up our block house.

By the blocklayers?? Check with your municipality or your engineer.
