Agreed. And wainscoting visually chops the walls in half making a small bath look even smaller.

No wood. Keep everything simple and contemporary to make the space seem larger.

Some fun wallpaper could be good if one of these is powder room. You can get bold and dramatic in small powder rooms and it helps distract from smallness. No wood at all.

Nix the ship lap. I do not even understand the fascination with it. If you look up the definition, it is exterior siding. If you want to live in a structure that looks like a barn move to the country - but for a condo in an urban area, the other posters were correct, give it a contemporary and upscale vibe which means a sophisticated palate not a page from Animal Farm.

I agree it was the cheap way to finish a house and really what is the fascination also a glass shower door will make the spaces feel much larger a shower screen in the tub/ shower would be great

I definitely agree about not using ship lap and bead board is very design specific. Using wood look tile is all the wood you want in a smaller bathroom. Keep the rest open and bright with lots of light colored materials and paint. Beverly's picture with a simple glass panel instead of full doors or shower curtains keeps things open and keeps your eye moving the full length of the room.

I thought this diy girl did a great job on this bathroom challenge reno. I believe it was done for under 1k. that's all vinyl flooring. she cut the large hex 'tiles' herself and made the vanity

yours is so small, maybe do some colorful penny rounds or something. look at photos on here of small bathrooms to get ideas.

I agree with the comments about not using shiplap or bead board. Wallpaper can be fun. I hope you keep the storage unit, so functional and interesting. Actually, if I were you I'd keep the tile. Can't see the tub, but if it is in good shape, I'd keep that too. Replace the shower curtain with glass. Replace the vanity and the toilet - new models save on water usage.

I remodeled two small bathrooms in my home with a similar layout. I used a wall hung toilet by duravit in one bath the other we knocked out a wall and added a larger closet and a claw foot tub but used the same sink space with an flea market find refinished and refitted with a granite top.

connie, i have a tall dresser just like yours that I got recently. it has no knobs. did you put those on yourself?

I have that same bathroom! Floor, vanity, sink...what did u end up doing with your renovation? I'm trying to decide if a partial update is worth the expense. I need a new sink and vanity, "could " live with floor and walls...not planning on resale in near future.
I would need to find vanity that has same footprint, as i dont know if there is tile under it, or concrete slab. Was yours built by Campanelli?

I agree with the suggestions for fun wallpaper. That could help give the rooms a fun pop while the headboard would be too busy.

There is fun wallpaper with Flamingos that would look so cute in this bathroom.

There are others too, just look around. It could be with just wallpaper you don't need to do much more. Kind of "retro" it. The Flamingos are back in funky style!

My bathroom's the exact same layout as your first picture-looks to be close to the same size, tho our vanity is smaller. I like the idea of beadboard/subway tile myself. The wall paper would be fun-I love those darn flamingos..but I can see that as being something to get sick of after a while and want to change?
