kitchen appliances- mix and match?

we are remodeling a house and doing a new kitchen. trying to decide on appliances. the refrigerator is the stumbling block! Can't really afford a true built in 42" but are considering getting an all refrigerator column and keeping a smaller freezer unit in the mudroom..we need any appliance advice!

Frigidaire and Electrolux (their parent company) both offer freestanding all fridge column units. These units will be deeper than a built in unit so that is something to consider from a design perspective.

Many companies offer built in column units but the minute you say "built in" it drives the cost up!
