Do you think drapes or roller blinds would work better? Or a combination of the two?

Just checking in to see if anyone has any advice? If I do drapes, how high should they be--to the top of the windows or would you take them to the ceiling? Thanks, all!

I'm not sure you have room to stack drapes. I see the windows will be able to open so that's a consideration. Inside mount sheers could work to filter light and you could possible do a roman shade to block light at night. They would have to be custom made to get the right length. Otherwise, the first pic you posted showing roller blinds under sheers could also work.

I was thinking of the Luminiettes as well Beverly. Will those let a breeze through if you want to open a window?

BeverlyFLADeziner - I'm really liking the Luminettes suggestion! And I love that there is a motorized option. I had never heard of these before. Do you have any experience working with these? My only concern would be the appearance of vertical blinds from the exterior of the house. Do you know if they appear more like traditional drapes (as they do from the inside) from the exterior?

I've seen them in person and the sheer fabric helps disguise the vertical panels inside.

The more I look at the Luminette option, the more I like them. Found some more pics below.

In my space, would it be better to install them to the top of the window or the top of the wall (where the tray ceiling begins)?

I would also look at top down bottom up blinds. They will allow you to open the windows when needed, and retain your privacy while still getting as much light as possible. With a vertical window covering, you won't have the option of having your windows open at night while blocking the view to/from the neighbors.
