How does the microwave vent?

MW looks the same depth at the cabinet it is mounted under. I have similar cabinet config but my installer wants to bring MW out addtl 2 inches from upper cab.

Why? Me don't need vents. If it vents top of range, he/she probably has some elbow for vent pipe that can't easily be moved. Most mw that have so called vent really just recycle with some minimal screening. Doesn't make sense to me.

In this picture, if there are top vents to blow air, they are blocked by upper cabinet? I'm trying to figure out if that matters. I like that this one is flush with upper cab it is mounted to. In my kitchen there is no outside vent.

Jill it is vented through the roof of the home. I actually sent the specifications on all the appliances to the cabinet guy before we started. Maybe that's why the mw and cabinet are flushed. I hope this helps and good luck with the project!

OK, there you go, but I have never done a vented microwave. Is it one that is used for over range for actual venting from range? Homeworks, is that what you mean. And if you sent the specs to the cabinet maker, why is the microwave not fitting flush? Me thinks something went wrong here?

Bringing that microwave out another 2" would look weird as heck. Something else needs to be fixed here for sure. After Homeworks input, I suspect the cabinet wasn't built right for the microwave, even though they had the specs. Probably didn't read them. It happens! Sorry, this is troubling.
