I had the same problem last year. I don't use 'cides of any sort, and while I continued hand-picking the bugs all season, I lost the battle... badly. It was a double whammy... the squash bugs were as prolific as the cucumber beetles. The beetles were all over the squash and zucchini. The squash bugs were all over the cucumbers. And they were both having a party in the candy roaster bed. It was a mess. The only thing related to the cucurbit family that did anything worthwhile was watermelon and a few winter squash - but severely reduced numbers than hoped.

If it's any consolation, and although it's still early yet, this year is nothing like last. I've already harvested more zukes than I did all last year combined.

Have you tried the Surround a couple of us mentioned on your other thread. Too late for row covers now but I'd sure give serious thought to using them next year as they are the most effective.
