Body lotion in pretty decorative bottles.

Does anyone put their body lotion in pretty dispensing bottles with success? Or is it just too much work?

I've thought about buying a pretty glass dispensing pump to put my body lotion in instead of keeping a big plastic lotion body on top of my dresser. I guess I could just keep it in the drawer too to keep the top of the dresser getting junked up.

I keep the bottle under the sink, and a tube of lotion in my sock drawer! I lotion the tootsies and I wear socks and slip-on shoes in the house.

I want to put sunscreen in a pretty bottle on the kitchen counter so I can easily apply it as I go out the door, especially to my hands.

Might be easier to buy lotion in a pretty enough bottle to start with. I think lotion is too hard to decant.

That was my thought too Rita. I specifically like Nivea lotion and it comes with a pump so I could just pump it into another bottle. In my mind, I'm thinking a glass bottle with a pump. I don't want to mess with unscrewing a top.

During the winter I go through so much lotion I have to keep some in the LR, office, bedroom, baths, and kitchen. For the kitchen & baths I buy lotion that comes in a pretty pump bottle, something from Philosophy, and set it on a tray with liquid hand soap next to the sink.

At Christmas I was given a gift box of 5 decorative tubes of lotion, different scents, from L'Occitane. Each tube is 1 oz, but it goes a long way. I now have a tube in the other rooms. So that's what I'm going to do when I run out of lotion, buy more tubes! The tubes are pretty, and I'm all for pretty. :)

My thought is why? Why do you want to leave your lotion sitting out? I'm not saying you shouldn't - to each their own. I'm just saying rather than find a pretty bottle, I would just put the lotion back in the bathroom (or wherever you keep it). It's just one more thing sitting out. I really don't understand things like lotion, tissues, etc. all over the house. My MIL keeps a box of tissue (at all times) in her kitchen. If I'm home and need a tissue, I go to one of the bathrooms and get a tissue. I use my tissue in the bathroom too. (Maybe TMI, but I think nose-blowing and other such things need to be done in private LOL and definitely not in the kitchen.) But back to your question. Each evening/morning I go through my routine, cleansing, deoderant, teeth brushing, lotion, perfume, whatever it is depending where I am going and what I am doing, but I do that in the bathroom or bedroom and then I put those items away. I do have some foot cream in my bedroom - and as someone else mentioned, that goes into a drawer in my nightstand. To me it is just easier and then I do not have all that "stuff" sitting out.

You know, some people might think we're crazy for even talking about this. Just sayin.

I will say, even though I'm very particular about a lot of home decor issues, I don't have an issue with lotion being "displayed" somewhere as long as it doesn't take over the room. I mean -- don't put it on the fireplace mantel. But I have one next to my kitchen sink in the bottle it came in -- doesn't bother me, although it's actually a decent looking bottle so that helps. I have a couple of lotion-y things in their original wrappings on my nightstand. Who's even going to see it? Same if it's on your bureau in your room...how many people actually see your bedroom?

My body lotion is in the bathroom but it's not disguised.

We have a giant pump bottle of SuperGoop sunscreen by our back door. It has to be out and within easy reach so we remember to use it. It's next to the dog food, which IS in a decorative container. ;-)

Yes, I can see the sunscreen in the kitchen or near the back door if you need reminding. Sue, FWIW, our bedroom IS visible from our great room. HA! You had to mention dog food! We have a hoosier cabinet in our kitchen/breakfast nook and 2 cabinets are devoted to doggie items!! And a small drawer! There's a lidded basket in the kitchen that holds her treats.

I thought if you today. I was in Pottery Barn Outlet and in the bath section were a ton of ceremac pump bottles that said "Lotion". There were no matching accessories.

If you've never had dry skin or year long allergies, count yourself lucky. Tissue & lotion could add clutter, but only if there is lots of clutter around already. I keep a box tissue on the hutch in the kitchen, it's actually a nice little area and isn't noticeable, a little pouch of of tissue in the desk drawer in the LR, tissue in the office when I'm on the PC, and tissue next to my bed. And bathrooms.

My grands have developed allergies too, and it is so nice that they are now old enough to get their own tissue! lol If it's just me and DH, I'll blow my nose in the kitchen if I wanna. It's not like I'm standing at the stove or food area. DH has only blown his nose once since we've been married, I kid you not. He's used to me and loves me for it. :)

Same with lotion. I don't use as much in the summer but there are days my hands have been in a lot of water, and I don't want to stop what I'm doing to get lotion. It's a long long walk from the LR to the bathroom. lol

I love going to a home where someone has lotion next to the kitchen sink. I don't feel like I have to ask if they have some I can use.

It's kind of like do you keep the whole bottle of Dawn on the counter or a small decorative bottle that's nice to look at. I do have a glass pump bottle for my Dawn that stays up on the kitchen counter.
