These ideas look good...just seems as if I need to find very specific paint colors to help. I'm just worried they'll look forever dingy.

If every home is the same color, it would be so boring. Beige is not a dated color. No neutral is ever dated because many homes need different neutrals depending on other surfaces.

Most any paint color will go with beige trim. Personally, I like it a lot. It looks like a wonderful home. Also, move away from white ceilings. I never use white for ceilings. Consider it a huge wall. But please don't make the whole house gray or brown.

You have lots of options for color. Those plantation blinds are worth thousands of dollars just by themselves. Here in Florida, they average $17 s.f. The house has beautiful well proportioned fireplaces, great floors, wonderful natural light and upgraded moldings. I wouldn't let the beige trim color hold you back. You could paint everything a beautiful soft white or add color.

Plantation shutters are dated???

No- they are just beige and I didn't know how to work with them.

You can work with them Bethany. Do you like everything else about the house-price, location, size, layout? If so, you really shouldn't let it hold you back.
