Done and DONE!

I was gifted this pattern a few years ago and it sat on a shelf. When asked to make a queen quilt for DGS for his Univ. apt. this jumped out. It is a Debby Maddy pattern called Labyrinth and she shows it done in these kinds of colours. I debated using another colour family but when I thought about it, boys, univ., washing, I figured this would be the best way to go.

Not too difficult to make, just need to keep units organized. Wondering whether the quilting is too dense but I left it to the LAQ to decide.

And I did use some fusible to attach the label along with a lot of stitching.

Anyway, it is finished, now needs to be boxed and shipped.

Had to do a lot of furniture moving to get space enough to lay it out and take a photo.

Theresa

PS It doesn't show but that last border is really two different browns.

Theresa, it is a beautiful quilt and I love your color choices. I like the quilting pattern, too. Lucky grandson! I hope he appreciates all of your hard work.

Shipped it off by UPS this afternoon. I remember reading somewhere, maybe here, to not declare the contents as a quilt. So I said it was sheets and towels, a very big box of sheets and towels. LOL. And I asked for a signature on receipt. Last time, the box was left out in the wet and the quilt got a bit streaky, even wrapped in plastic.

Perfect for a male and a very intriguing pattern. And huge! Why should you not say it's a quilt? Afraid of theft by postal workers??? I always just say "no" when asked if it has hazardous materials and never really say what it is.

With a college age student, and particularly a boy, I wouldn't worry about it being washed. I remember my sister driving 200 miles home from UT on some weekends. She always brought a ton of laundry. So much so that I know she must have skipped the laundry room regularly.

Received a note today..

" I absolutely love the design. The black fabric with the little dots makes me think of stars. Thanks a lot!"

I guess he likes it.
