Are you quilting this weekend? Oct.28-30

Hello Quilters! Sorry I'm so late with the weekend post. DS and his family were here Friday and Saturday. They are now on their way home. DD and her family were here for lunch and dinner also. Cooking for an extra family or two keeps me too busy to sew. I now have the house back in order and am catching my breath.

I plan to work on my pumpkin quilt that I started this week. It is Bonnie Hunter's pattern in the Quiltmaker magazine. I'm not paper piecing it, I'm making up my own instructions. I made one block to make sure it would work. Now I am cutting it out. I plan to use text print for the background with the hope of it looking as though the pumpkins are sitting on newspaper.

Just got back from a weekend retreat at Jan-Kay Ranch in Detroit, TX. 20 ladies and lots of beautiful quilts. Great fun! Great ladies! Thanks to Pam P. for hosting us.

I finished a small Halloween wall hanging last night with leftovers from a panel I made for DS & DIL last week. I need to post pictures of both! I've been making Halloween pretzel witch fingers and mummies for 100 treat bags that will be given out at our Lions club Bingo Tuesday night. Worked in the yard today, too - got most of the leaves up before the snow that is supposed to come in late tomorrow. Guess that means I will have time to sandwich the baby quilt I pieced at Retreat and get started on the quilting. I would like to make a pumpkin quilt, too, but not enough time this year!

I have a million UFOs but I went ahead and started another quilt. Simple Ohio stars.

i added the bright batik charm pack to the shopping cart just to get free shipping a few months ago. The background is Kona Sky from another project.

I see the oops block - some ripping and fixing in my future

I worked on 4 quilts. The two UFO's that are alike, ready for binding. The newer elephant quilt, worked on piecing and started the lap quilt for my co-worker. Trying to figure out if I like the border cut WOF so you see it as short stripes or cut the long way so It's one long pattern, assuming I have enough to do it that way. Open to suggestions.previous post

Donna- yes I do have a million UFOs. At Least it feels that way. Lol. My UFOs are stuffed into shoeboxes and stashed in a secure, hidden location so that’s it is easy for me to ignore them.

Bev- you’ve been busy! Post pictures.

Bev, I'd go with the short stripes. To me it would be visually more interesting, as well as being more forgiving. If you go with lengthwise stripes and they aren't really straight it's going to be noticeable.
