Something in the charcoal grey or black would work great. It will bring out the darker greys in the stone!

What about large black tiles (not small subway), like 30x60cm? Then maybe an accent tile, perhaps silver.

I used London Gray for my counter tops & Travertine Silver Cloud for the backsplash. it is still my favorite part of my kitchen.

My kitchen in progress. Cabinets are white dove, and backsplash is Walker Zanger Tangent collection chevron pattern in Ash natural stone.

I was also looking for a lighter backsplash, but finding anything white was making the London Grey look yellow.

i like this carrara and MOP arabesque, or even these glazed bricks in flannel. (it will look better w/natural lighting)

I would stay away from the lighter ones. The darker ones make the counters pop more.

We designed in glass mosaic tiles with natural limestone to compliment the London Gray counter tops in this kitchen. I think a similar combination would look great in an all white kitchen as well.

Kristina, I would love to see your finished product. I’ve heard that placing the London Grey next to super white would make it appear yellow. Have you experienced this? My cabinets are extra white from Sherwin-Williams and my counters and backsplash will be London Grey (no turning back)....needing some validation for my decision .

hi Dung! my install is scheduled for end of January. yes I experienced what you are talking about with different types of marble tiles. this is the best match I found so far with London Grey. the tile store says it's called "classic white". I think the tile is from DalTile M313. I still have to confirm bc I haven't purchased the tiles yet.
I'll post pics once my install is done :)

BTW I chose BM Chantilly lace as my white cabinets. I don't see any yellow next to the samples I have.

Kristina, do you predict the yellowing of LG to be a problem or eye sore with your chantilly lace cabinets though? Mine are being installed next week. I hope I made the right decisions. These decisions are literally made once in a lifetime for me so I’m praying it turns out beautiful.

I did a white/gray marble back splash against a white marble counter that has some grey veining, I love an all white kitchen, I don't necessarily think you need to have a dark back splash to make a pop. Picture of my kitchen. I like your choice from Tile shop I think it will look great.

I think it may be the undertone of the white chosen?? I noticed that a few white samples I did have had a blue undertone. but I didn't notice if the counter sample looked yellow. lighting also played a big factor in my decisions bc of potlights.
I only noticed the countertops look yellow, brown or "dingy" next to marble bc of the grey tones.

Thanks Kristina. Most of our budget went into the kitchen and I shopped around for the counter A LOT! I was seriously stalking stone yards and trying to get a deal, I think they were all happy that I finally found something and left them alone! I don't have much counter space so it worked out but I can see it getting very pricey with much more counter.

Do you think brass/gold toned hardwares will look good with the London Grey? The faucet we picked out is Blanco satin nickel and so I’m hoping mixed metals would work here.

Aibdesigns, your kitchen is beautiful!!! I’m so happy to hear you achieved the “white” kitchen look. I was afraid the grey in London Grey would take away from the “all white “ effect that I’ve always wanted.

Thanks Dung, your kitchen space is amazing! My home is a 1930's and we had very limited space to work with. My counter is actually white marble with a bit of gray veining and I chose all honed surfaces. Here is a picture of my kitchen before, sorry Kristina, don't mean to take over your topic....

Here's my London Grey with white subway tile and warm gray grout. I don't think the counters look yellow at all.

If you have your heart set on a light colored tile, I’ve seen it paired with Calcatta Gold marble tile by Z Collection (3x6 subway and the 1x3 in herringbone pattern) and it was gorgeous. The light gold veining tied in the creamy background of London Grey while the mostly white background of the marble tile brought in brightness. Dal Tile also has a pretty marble tile in Snow Drift that looked good with it. The busier pattern of Carrara marble looked too busy to me and made the overall look a little darker. Glossy white ceramic and porcelain subway didn’t seem quite right to my eye (even though it looked good in pictures), but everyone is different.

Here’s DalTile White Snow 3x6 polished with London Gray. The honed looks a little better with it. London Gray is on top of a much whiter quartz (LG Minuet) to give a sense of the creamy/taupe tone of London Gray.

Dung Tran, I'm wondering if, three years later, you are happy with your kitchen, specifically the London Grey counters as that is what I am considering putting in my kitchen. If you see this, I'd love to know what you think at this point and if you have photos to post, all the better. And as Brianne Margolin said, people do use these older posts as resources, they are very helpful!

Yes I am very happy with the white cabinets 2years later. I wish I had gone bolder with black handles instead of silver. The tiles are just a honed marble.

@annslee71 I do too, it's gorgeous! I love the subtle color variation that's not too busy with the countertop pattern. Modern yet timeless. We have Greek Thassos white subway tile in our kitchen up to the ceiling and I love it every day (except the first week after install it looked dark until the thinset, grout, and tiles fully dried - I was freaking out the 1st few days).
