Wow, what an improvement! I wouldn't touch the fireplace color now. If the wall color isn't working for you, maybe try to match one of the brick colors. Looks like you do have a lot of brown in the room, sofa, floor and furniture, so a lighter color might be good.

The pumpkin isn't working. I agree with the above - go light.

The color on the walls is BM Roxbury Caramel. Any suggestions for lighter colors? I don't want to go too gray, because there are so many warm tones in the room

Can you post more pics of the entire room so I can see as a whole. The fireplace looks amazing. I would also suggest a lighter color on the paint.

Here are more pics. It's a dark and cloudy day, so I hope the lighting is okay. I just took down fabric roman shades that made the room feel small and dark. We have enough privacy and I like the look, so I'm thinking of going without. What do you think? TIA for your help!

Just to add- without changing anything but the paint color- the right taupe tone- you said you see blue tones now with brick- you could very easily use some blue accents vs. orange. If you get the right taupe wall color- you become pleasantly room neutral with color- adding either orange or blue accents depending on your taste or season! If your walls were taupe- you could change pillow color on brown couch- blue, turquois? Blues and brown go very well together- the new neutral taupe wall color will allow you to change accent colors and therefore your rooms. You did an incredible job on the whitewash- invest in a wall color that keeps it warm and extends your flexibilty for color- :-)
