Hi, thanks for the question. What you see on the walls in this room is called picture molding and it is applied to the wall and painted the same finish and color as the wall (matte finish for both). Good luck with your project!

dSPACE Studio Ltd, What is the width of the molding used for these boxes? I have had to choose between a beveled 1.75 inch or a smaller simpler 1.5 inch that is more of a cornered round. Not sure if that is the correct term but I am having trouble deciding if the "heavier" look would look better even though I like a "clean" look.

The picture mold in this room in 1.5 inches wide. We don't think the 1.75 version will feel too 'heavy' as we've seen picture molding profiles that are 4 inches wide or even wider. However, we do strongly recommend considering the different profiles and seeing which one will give you the look and shadow lines you want. If you can, we recommend getting a mock-up made from small pieces of each profile option so that you can see them in the space to decide. Thanks for the question and good luck with your project!
