can you do one large piece behind the sofa? we also have high ceilings but I have some custom artwork that I use on my walls. Behind your sofa would be the perfect spot for a tall canvas artwork. width-wise, it should stay within the sofa width, but you could go more vertical.

rather than have all small framed pieces spread over the wall, can you do one that takes center stage? use the other ones elsewhere, but have a good size focal point. it's the perfect spot for it

My only suggestion is that you should not try to decorate the “high ceilings “. My previous home had very high ceilings ( I hated them lol ) , other than decorating with larger scaled items, I ignored the height of the rooms & decorated the walls on a human scale.

I'd move the plant to the left, between the two windows. put a couple of chairs to the left of the couch, or do a console under the window, or even a bench. or like these two ottomans

consider switching your light to something like this one.

If you expect any posters to mock up your photos, start posting pictures that are not taken at such goofy angles.

Take the photos straight on or at a diagonal, but with your camera/phone level like these images below.

You can add a large molding around the room to divide the height of the room.

At the very least you'll want to paint all the walls to eliminate the gold paint that doesn't work with your flooring color.

The use of antique glass mirrors could be nice in your room. No clocks.

Yes, I would continue the curtains on the side wall as well. The existing wall art would be too large with the curtains.

Wouldn't even try to decorate above the height of the air vent -- close to the top of that rectangle window. Usual rule is to only decorate about the standard 8' wall height; however, that window above door height raises the height to decorate as does the odd shape of the wall across from the sofa -- a "]" shape. IF you decide to decorate the top left extension of that " ]" shape, you might consider adding your clock to the left of that vent across

To keep attention below the higher blank wall, you could add a rectangle stained glass window hanging in front of that high rectangle window. Something like this -- in colors you prefer -- could add interesting color highlights to the room.

Like your clock. If it is hung alone off centered in it's surroundings, it could look off. Alone it could be a poor fit for the size or crowd the space where it's hung. If the wall across from the sofa is going to have a tv on it, that limits the space you have on that wall.

You could hang your clock over the sofa as a part of a grouping of other metal wall art near it that conveys your family's personal interests -- such as, it's TIME (clock) for ... music, going to the mountains, going to the beach, going to a sporting event ...

here's is much better, so I added a diff light and art. I'd put you plant on a little table in front of the window or move yours in the corner in a diff pot

Decorate where the people live; the lower 8-9' of the space; below the lower windows and the door frames at that same height. Clocks are the lazy way out of decorating; return that if you can.
