really need advice on window treatments

I really need to get this new home “going!” I’m gun shy about the plan so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Planning on using the Black Linen Toile as panels to frame the Bow window, placing the rod at the same height as the black bookcase. I don’t need privacy so am thinking of using the neutral open weave fabric in a tailored Roman shade. The stripe fabric is for the adjacent Dining Room (on the same plane as the LR but smaller)
Any advice would be greatly appreciated...thank you!

I'd skip the panels on the windows and use inside mount roman shades alone. I like this minimal transitional look you've got going here. I moved your sofa up onto the rug; all your seating is too far apart. I probably wouldn't do a patterned chair with that rug unless it were something like a bold wide stripe, so I gave you Crate & Barrel's Blake.

The black and beige is the best I’ve found for whatever chair find to remove the Lr Green floral.. that chair is a place holdrr

Are you sure this is the right layout for this room? How can you sit on the sofa and see the TV?

Why isn't the TV on the other side of the fireplace and where does the wall opening lead?

Really like all that natural light.

You should frame -- not cover -- the windows with the same dark color by hanging your drape panels so they cover the side frame of the windows but not the glass.

Since you mentioned the top of the black bookcase and intend to hang your rod well above the top of the window, also consider adding a straight bottom edge valance in between the two panels in the same dark fabric as the drapes to cover the wall above the windows and the top of the window frame -- frame only, not glass.

Do consider adding some bright and/or bold color to your room -- wall art that reflects your interest and/or a deep bold blue ottoman.

To complement your window treatments, why not do something different such as subtle 3D wall panels,
textured wall paper or adhesive wall tiles. They’re catching on because they
are affordable, easy to install and have that “wow” factor. Check out some

I just want to thank all of you for your honest efforts in helping not REALLY BLUNDER and spend lots of time and money and then be so regretful. I was already at the Fabric store ready to purchase (because I just really want to be DONE / the remodel has taken over a year!) Thankfully, due to all your efforts and good advice I once again have a vision to follow.

Beverly...that TV will be moving to the other side of the room...after all these months I think we are just moving too fast! Thank you for pointing out yet another faux pas!!
