We are building a new covered terrace that will extend down two steps into a pool with decking of the same material. The covered patio is 60 x 16‘. Planning on using 24 x 18 ivory travertine and sand setting it. What direction should I run the tile?
Planning on doing a running bond pattern.

Were considering as an alternative using 24 x 18 along with 18 x 18 squares and pattern shown below but have been unable to find any examples of this in application.
