I did something similar. Very happy with the look and doesn’t affect functionality for me at all. Sorry for the weird pic it’s the most recent one o could quickly come across

i dont think i'd like to center a pull on a wide door that i open and close frequently. its sort of not the right place to pull from and could end up wrenching the top hinge a fair bit over time.

Sorry, the thought the person's lower cabinet was a drawer not a door. It would be awkward to put anything in the center of a door.

It’s actually not awkward at all. Not a single person who has used my kitchen has stated the pulls are awkward.

Here's what I posted in an earlier discussion about this:

"As soon as you start pulling, the doors start to swing one way or the other. It really isn't an issue... whether you open a door or drawer/pullout, you’re not using a lot of force, and your body movement automatically adjusts to follow the motion of the door. I actually tested friends and family members when they came over for the first time, and had them try different ones to see if it was weird to them to use. Overwhelmingly positive responses.

Visually, I love the look of continuity between doors, drawers, and pullouts. I’m not sure if I will do it again in this kitchen, just because I’m consciously going totally a different direction so I’m not recreating my last one, but that’s the only reason. I still love the look and functionality. (PS: it's really hard to do two kitchen renovations within 3 years. I didn't have enough time to get sick of anything, and trends haven't changed that significantly, so it's hard making it feel different! I don't recommend it!)"

We also have put drawer pulls on two cabinet doors because all the rest of the lower cabinetry is drawers and we wanted a continuous look. We centered the pulls and put them at the same height relative to the top of the door as the pulls on the drawers were from the top of the drawer. And it doesn't look weird, it looks good and there is a really nice consistency on the bottom cabinets. It works perfectly, there is absolutely no issue.
