A couple of UFO's

I was finally getting the UFOs put away until fall and wanted to post a pic of a couple. Lousy pics, but I'll do better when I have them finished. These are stash busters. If felt good to use up some of the scraps I am inheriting from an elderly quilter. I actually made two of the single-colored block quilt.

Make the strip blocks really went fast and no worries about matching anything when putting it all together.

I made enough 9 patches for two D9P quilts but didn't take a photo of them.

Ooh, I love your bright colors! I think scrappy quilts are wonderful! After all, ladies started making quilts to use up small pieces left over from making dresses and shirts so that nothing went to waste.

Wow, great work! Those single color blocks are fabulous, the strings too, but the single color blocks like that are new to me, sooooo nice!

Can I pls greedily ask you to post pix of your 2 D9P? You KNOW we wanna see! Pix hounds that we are (I am anyway).

Good job, Bev! I like the first one and how you laid out the blocks....excellent!! I will probably save this as inspiration and as you said, the string blocks go quickly when there are no thought given to matching anything. You're making me look bad here, girl.

I like both of those you showed. I'd like to see your 9p blocks as well. I'd like to see how you did them. I've started saving "strings' for a string quilt like that.

The 9 patch are just that. I haven't cut them apart yet. I'm happy to post a pic of just that, but not sure it would be helpful. Thank you for all your comments. I was surprised how much I liked the first one too.
