I've read on other threads that you are buying Asko. I am wondering why when there are other front loaders at the same price point that have had fewer negatives.

I saw on the spec sheet, it says Cold Water Only hookup

They look nice. Why wouldn't you recommend them?

granted i have no performance data to back this up yet but the best way to describe it would be how in cheap cars the panel gaps do not line up correctly

also really weird marketing on their part that the premium "logic" line does not offer a heat pump dryer in the us but the lower end classic does

the drying is long . And I’m not sure the incentives to get one offset the cost

For the price $1700-2000 I guess that Miele would still be the way to go.

I'd be curious how the Miele T1 dryer does since it is 120v heat pump.

My GE Profile washer and dryer from 2006, the dryer is a standard 240v and takes about 1 hour for clothes, but towels can take up to 2.5hr.

isn't there someone on this forum who has the t1 heat pump dryer and gave a rave review and drying times are awesome short?

@hseattle i get you on that part but my dilemma was such :

logic line bigger/a few more functions at $3600 // classic line smaller a few less function but at $3200 but with a hp dryer

ideally i would have gone with a logic washer and a classic hp dryer but you cannot stack the classic dryer on top of a logic washer

Vicky how’s is the overall quality ? Does it have the awe factor ? Is the panel gap biggest turnoff?

Seems like asko would want you to pay a premium for the logic line regardless.

it is not the only turnoff many little things are crooked and don't line up

display is very very hard to see (they have changed the background to a really weird blue)

on the doors it says open here and it is literally a piece of scotch tape with print on it, the dryer one is already half way hanging off

took him a good hour to level the machines but dryer still shakes a little (these should not be stacked period)

i will give them a chance but most likely they will be going back

from a distance of 4-5ft they look awesome, just like in all the pictures provided online

i have no experience with Miele and cannot get them because we have no Miele service here at all but i do have experience with swedish askos and these are not asko, they are more gorenje, but gorenje machines (where available) are half the price

Gorenje has not yet revived the brand quality.

That is truly unfortunate that the Asko Logic isn't that great, considering its price of over $3500 for the pair.

I guess you talked to Miele directly and asked them if there was an authorized service in your area?

If you send these Asko back, what do you think you'll replace them with?

Since you need 24" and stackable, I guess that Bosch is the only other alternative?

The compact Electrolux washer dryer can also work . I believe the sanitize cycle might go up to 150degrees.

So sorry to see this Vicky but not surprised. I will say I am happy with my stacked Bosch 500 pair. And I know friends are as happy with their Miele Little Giants as I was with my Miele 3035. Bosch is very quiet and 0 vibration with the dryer. There is a heater and a true hot wash though only on certain cycles, of course. Not an easy decision today. However, may well be worth making the plumbing changes. Like Asko, Bosch washer plugs into dryer. So no electrical changes.

The pictures on the Asko North America web site do not seem to have the "Open here" stickers. My guess is that they are only intended to be of temporary use to get the new customer acquainted with the location of the door handles since it may not be immediately obvious when looking at the machines directly from the front.

@zenhar24 you may be correct but if the stickers are removed, there is no way to tell where to pull the doors to open at all

Now that you've had the Asko Logic for about a week, can you comment on it's cleaning, or anything good/bad during a wash cycle?

I had read that there it uses a Steel Seam instead of a rubber gasket around the door, so mold and smells would be less?

If possible, since there are no videos of the Logic on line, and the 2 dealers in my area doesn't have them on display, would you be able to record some video of the units (maybe filling and washing) just so we can all see how they are in action?

Wow. Sorry to hear about all the trouble you had. Did the washer do a good job of cleaning?

the cleaning itself was good with the few loads i ran i used the german persil megaperls but the spin was not as good as my swedish asko that one spun at 2000 rpm and the clothes were near dry when finished

Is this being used in the US? I know that combo wash/dry units have been used in Europe for years, but wasn't aware that LG also made one for the US. My only concern with something like this is if one part of it were to break (either the washer part or the dry part) and it was past warranty, it might be more expensive to repair...or to replace it. A separate washer and dryer may have more longevity with lower repair costs down the road.
