Tomatillo Help!!

I have a little container garden in the back yard. This is the first year I've ever tried growing tomatillos. My two plants did nothing for quite a while and then all of a sudden...boom. The plants are now covered in husk balls. However, the husks are empty. The wind blew one of the balls off today, so I opened it up to find a little fruit just starting to grow. So, first question is, am I correct in assuming the husk ball forms and grows to the "appropriate" size and then the fruit starts growing inside the husks after that? Next question is, how long after the husk ball appears can I expect to harvest? I understand that depends on numerous factors. I water daily and every couple of weeks or so I water all my plants with fish gut water and throw on some tomato-tone(glorified chicken poop). My garden gets about six to seven hours of direct sunlight. Any insight would be appreciated.
