Help! How to modernize the exterior?

I would love some input on how to modernize the exterior of our home - it was built around 1990 and has a very traditional look. We have made the interior more contemporary with wide plank floors and a minimalistic style and now need to do something to the exterior. All those little windows you can see in the photo make it more challenging - should I just replace them, or completely change the size of the windows? What about the porch and the stone wall next to it? New or mixed siding? Exterior color - I love the new dark windows with light wood. All ideas welcome!!

Why, oh why, do people purchase a "classic" well-maintained home...and proceed to muddle it (Sophie's words)? Your home's windows are what "makes" this home so lovely. By all means, re-paint the exterior to suit you but, please don't replace those windows.

Are the grids in the windows removable? If yes, then start there.

I love your windows, nice home. I would maybe trim some of the front shrubbery/trees so the front was move visible and inviting. IMO, interior and exterior do not need to match styles. Looks like a great place to make memories.

Just do some landscape trimming and learn to embrace this very attractive house. Interior and exterior need not match at all!

Beautiful house. The existing windows are an essential part of the architectural style. If you want a trendy paint scheme, try white house with black or bittersweet chocolate brown windows. Then choose a bright paint color for the door. Some houses can't be changed into a completely new style without ruining them.

If that big tree is a redwood, some careful cleanup of the existing landscape can show it off more.
