Washer "only at Lowes"...?? What exactly does that mean?

Checking the Lowes website for washers...just in case...they have a Kenmore on their site listed as Only at Lowes. Home depot has one similar, $1. difference. The panel looks similar.

The 8540 is a model that is specifically for Lowest that is essentially an 85 like at Home Depot with maybe a slight variation. They are essentially the same model though.

From my experience, I would say RUN. In the other direction.

"Only at Lowe's" just means that being a big-box-high-volume retailer, they can contract with Whirlpool (you said Kenmore but the washers you linked are Whirlpool) to produce a model with a specific mix of features that may not be available from other sources.

There's no need to "RUN in the other direction."

Sorry, yes Whirlpool. Thank you. I am curious though what is Patty Hashs experience that she would run away....why make a comment like that without expanding on comment. ??

This model seems to have good reviews. I'm between a new motor in my Kenmore TOP LOADER....repairman says my model is the last of the good TL's. Then if I decide to go new....do I stick with a top loader or make the jump to a front loader. One concern is that the FL are deeper than TL's and where my washer and dryer are located in my condo...they definitely will stick out further my current machines..

Sorry, I didn't realize this would come out sideways...You can see my current machines stick out...they are about 27 inches deep and the the Whirpool is 33 inches deep....LG models seem to the least deep of just under 31 inches...I may have to stick with a top loader....

For me, my only regret on this model is that there is not a drum light. More of a novelty thing I guess, but I would have liked it I think! I hated my HD top loader after less than 2 years (no real agitator). That was a real waste of money.

I took a little trip to Lowes after work...I am very much a need to see and touch type of person. My concern...well beside trying to figure out what I'd buy if I go new...is the depth of the FL machines since all the specifications are deeper than my current top loader Kenmore. I measured the cabinet of the TL machines they are 27 inches deep like my FL, then you have the back of the machine that juts out....checked my dryer and its back "juts" out too...so Im thinking a front loader would be fine in my space.

For the price, I'm seriously considering the Whirlpool made for Lowes...it's $749. plus I believe I'm eligible for a $85. rebate!!
