Beetles in linen curtains?

This morning, I found a large black bug on my bedroom sheers. I think it was a beetle. It's the third time I've found such a bug on these curtains in about as many years. Took a close up pic of a large black spot with lines on the curtains - could these be bug eggs? There is less than a handful of these marks in the curtains. Is it time for new curtains or will hand washing them take care of whatever possible bug issue they may have?

Maybe you could ask in the Laundry Room forum? My concern with washing is that heat is usually the answer to bug problems and you can't get curtains very hot or they will shrink and lose their shape.

Thanks, Rita. That's my worry as well. The water temperature. Btw, I don't recall seeing the Laundry Room forum in the topics list. The list does not always seem comprehensive with a new post. I couldn't find the HD Conversations in the list either.
