We do not think that the 15.5 inch glass pendants would be wide enough to cover the space of the island. There would be a wide gap in between as well as gap issues on the edges, depending on how close to the edge you place the pendants. You can certainly use a wider diameter-sized pendant to minimize the gap in between and on the edges but the gap would still be somewhat noticeable from afar.

Alternatively, you can try using some smaller diameter-sized pendants and cluster them closer together and have 3 pendant lights over the island, instead of 2.
