Master bedroom & off center beam

We are combining two bedrooms into one larger bedroom and master bath. The wall that is between the two bedrooms is a load bearing wall. The beam that will take its place is off-center and close to the new wall that is now the master bathroom. You can see in the floor plan below, the position of the beam. We have 8ft ceilings and the beam will be 12 inches. Any advice? Do we add another beam and slap some faux wood around it for a beamed ceiling? We definitely want a ceiling fan so not sure if this is possible and whether it’s a good idea to add more stuff to an 8ft ceiling just to distract from the stupid beam. Will I even notice this once it’s built?

What makes this load bearing? What's above? Picture of the exterior of this part of the house?

I'd focus on hiding the beam rather than not.

I asked about the red areas above thinking about this or something similar.

Depending on your style, maybe this.

Have you asked your contractor about hiding the beam?

As is, I imagine more than half of the beam will be hidden in the ceiling.

What will go where the red is? Furniture?

Thank you for responding and for your interest. I’m not sure if I’m properly relating the GCs idea here - but he suggested putting the beam above the ceiling but not sure how we can slide it in since this is a second floor and we haven’t looked for an entrance from the outside such as a vent. We are in the beginning stages and haven’t started demo or anything so at this point, I’m open to suggestions. I was planning on putting furniture against the wall in the red area. Maybe a tall dresser. The master bedroom is already sort of small at 14 1/2 by 15 so I hate to get rid of that extra space.

I'm confused. If the beam will be hidden, what are you asking about?

This is what I would like to know:
1. If it’s not hidden, how do you work around it so that it’s not a complete eyesore. Do you wrap it in faux wood and add additional beams so that it is a beamed ceiling, which is pretty trendy right now? Or is that a bad idea since we have 8ft ceilings and would like to have a ceiling fan.
2. Upon looking at the snapshot of the plan I attached, are there other ways to avoid having a beam in the room?

IMO the beam is in a logical place between the bedroom and the bathroom what is the big deal wrapping it or ainting a different color will only highlight it.
