It's quilted, bound and labeled.

I wanted to finish this quilt top for my niece's wedding on April 4. We will be driving through Omaha on our way back to Minneapolis from Palm Desert next spring, and I wanted to be able to give it to her then. So, that meant I had to get it done before we leave on December 26. And I did!! You've seen the top before, but I just had to show you the finished quilt.

Lois, as usual, your quilts are always very classy. Must be the colors that you pick. Very nice.

Thanks, Ladies, for your kind words. I really struggled to find 18 fabrics for the blocks that went with the border. I was ultimately very satisfied with what I found. The blue and red in the border were quite subdued, so I tried to find fabrics that were varied, but not too bright.

Donna, we sold our condo on Maui last spring. It was kind of sad, but we were ready for a change. We'd been going there for 20 years, and the plane ride was getting to be too much for my husband. (I looked at it as an opportunity for a movie marathon. I'd just download four movies and watch them, and before I knew it, we were in Hawaii.) I've never been to Palm Desert, so I'm really excited for a new adventure. The condo we rented is huge, 2100 square feet, three bedrooms and three baths. We kept telling friends and family to come down to see us, and many are taking us up on it. It might be a little like running a bed and breakfast, but I'm sure it will be fun. And there's a lot more space to spread out in than our 600 square foot condo had. The quilt is packed along with my clothes in a one of four big plastic tubs that hold everything I'm taking. It's a good thing that we have an SUV.

It's just beautiful. Thanks for the close up of the border. You need that to see the different colors there.

Another beautiful quilt, Lois. You are so well organized - four months ahead. I'd just be thinking whether I should make one!

We came back from the islands to spend Christmas with my 91-year-old mom (also Lois, btw). Know what you mean, Lois, about a long trip. Will head back down in early February.
