Countertops first.

Things should not be done in a vacuum.

You need to get an overall picture of how you want the finished product to look, then make a story board to help you achieve your journey. If you have a story board, you and your husband will have visuals of what the finished product should be.

What about a backsplash? What about lighting? What about kitchen sink? What about faucets? What is your budget? What about contingency plans? These will all need to be addressed before you begin your journey.

The best thing you can do is research, research, research. Plan, plan and plan.

In that case, cabinet painting. If possible and for best results, should be done by specialized cabinet painter and done off site.

1. Full plan of materials/colors. 2. Remove the old countertop and paint the cabinets 3. Replace the countertop 4. Install the back splash.

IMO the cabinets should be done off site except for the boxes and i would want to see the counter in the space to decide cabinet color it has to work with the floor and the counter . Before choosing anything your lighting is IMO the first thing to address I like LEDs in 4000K for kitchens .

Countertops first. It’s a lot easier to clean paint off the new countertop than it is to repair nicks and gauges in newly painted cabinets.

If you will need to step one foot on the tops to reach anything while painting, then do tops later!!!!
