Design Dilemma Kitchens

Need advice with kitchen backsplash

We are redoing the backsplash in our coastal style townhome in South Florida. We are keeping the granite that was there when we bought the property last year. We are painting the cabinets white. It is difficult to find a tile that matches a busy granite . . . without just going with a plain subway tile. I was hoping for something that will add a little more interest.

Will either one of these tiles work with this granite? or both too busy of a pattern? I would appreciate any advice. Also a pic of the kitchen as is but with grayish/bluish walls.

No I don't think either go well, the 1st one is too "glam" for the granite and the 2nd too busy. Wait until the cabinets are painted before deciding

Go simple with a single color tile and grout that blends with it. If you want to add a little interest, go with elongated (3x10 or 12) subway, or consider a picket or otherwise interesting shape to the tile (but again, single color, grout that blends).

And do please wait until the cabinets are done before choosing the tile. That way you can test drive tile samples in situ with the actual cabinet finish and lighting.
