I have about 35 yards of either poly or cotton/poly seersucker in extremely bright coordinated colors like pink, red, turquoise, lavender and lime green. Most are floral, or food prints with a very few solids. The majority are 1 yard cuts, and a few 2 yard cuts. I bought it as quilting fabric at an auction, thinking it would make great little girls quilts. When I got it home, I realized it wasn't cotton. I tried to donate it, but the charity quilt folks aren't interested in dealing with it.

I finally finished my card trick look-alike, and I'm ready for something super simple - thus the picnic quilt, using that poly-cotton. it will launder well and will stand up to mud, food and wine stains (wine stains probably wouldn't show on this fabric). I found a pattern that is mostly strip pieced and super simple.

Hopefully, it will be used often and washed most every time it's used. I'm trying to come up with a "batting" that will stand up to this kind of washing without dense quilting. I thought an old blanket from the thrift store would be perfect, but we're going into "shelter in place" at midnight tonight, so can't do the thrift store thing. Then I thought of fleece, but it's just a hair too narrow at 64". The finished size will be about 66X66.

The other question is about pressing. I don't think this will press well. (I once used black cotton-poly on an I spy quilt, thinking it wouldn't fade with lots of washing and every time I tried to press it, it would shrink.) Has anyone working with cotton poly and give me some hints for success?
