Nancy, personally I think that the simple, Craftsman style casing would look best with baseboards of the same style. It’s a pretty versatile style.

Having said that, I replaced all my baseboards and door casings several years ago as part of a major remodel. I was updating and modernizing throughout. I was inclined to use simple, Craftsman trim, but sometimes I found it to be a little boring, though I like the clean style. Eventually I found an alternative that I liked better. It’s still fairly simple but has some detail that makes it more interesting. Just might work for you. I’ll attach a couple of photos.

This trim is a WindsorOne product, part of their Greek Revival line if I recall. Comes 3/4 inch thick. For the baseboards I had my contractor plane the trim down to 1/2 inch thick. Also to use it for the door casing, the edge or corner closest to the door needs to be rounded off; it’s milled with a sharp corner there.

Buying the trim and taping in place is a great idea! Craftsman period trim was very simple. It looks like your examples are just S4S (surfaced four sides) boards, stevens' picture above is just a simple round bead on the outside.

Generally, your local lumberyard will carry standard baseboard and casing profiles with "WM-xxx" descriptors. There are companies like windsorone that carry unique profiles. Windsor has a picture gallery with great examples.
