We need a to scale floor plan and a lot more info from you. First your budget since this will require new flooring for sure . we also need to know what spaces are around this space too so some more pics .

I want to change it to a rectangle island. The space between the sink and the kitchen wall counter on the opposite side is 80 inches

As stated, if you want specific advice, post a floor plan. Buy or print out some 1/4" grid paper, and draw the kitchen with each square representing a foot. If you don't want advice but just want encouragement, yes the rectangular island will be great!

So IMO you do not have space for an island if all you have is 80"

I have space for an island that can be 71” by 105”. Is that what you are asking?
