No for 2 reasons they will make great climbing things and will always look messy IMO closed storage is the best for play rooms and the fewer spotsthere are to climb on the better and that tall piece you have now better be tethered to the wall too If this is trictly a play room closed off when you entertain then just do cubbies one level high along the wall.
