Mexibelle peppers are strange. I wouldn't call them bell peppers. They are thick walled but are much smaller than bells and they are not uniform in shape/size. I wouldn't call them mild either. If you haven't tasted them yet I'd say to proceed with caution. While some of the peppers may be mild others from the same plant will also be quite spicy. About the same spiciness of a serrano.

They are a fun pepper to grow but they are variable and do not fit the description given for them. At least they never have when I've grown them.

Thanks Rodney! I tried to post a picture but it wouldn't post. I have one that looks like just the bottom lobes of the pepper and one that looks more like a jalapeno? I had one grow earlier this year but it had no seeds. It's so weird.

These are both on the same plant. Kinda weird to me.

Mexibell has been a good producer for me, but uses are limited. Best for fajitas but too hot for many people. They resemble a small bell, but have some distinct differences in shape.

Sarah- That top pepper looks like it may be the result of incomplete pollination or something else. Definitely not the norm. The second one is odd as the peppers are usually pretty squat.

When I said they aren't uniform in shape and that they don't fit their description (most descriptions I have seen have described them as a mildly spicy bell pepper), I was referring to them having like a mix of small bell, pimento, and cherry pepper shapes on the same plant. As in some are more lobed while some are more rounded.

This is the most consistent shape I've been getting and they are SPICY. On par with jalapeno which happens to be growing beside it. Maybe cross-pollination? Definitely interesting.
