Nope. Work with a Designer. You need multiple changes that are all intertwined. It’s not 1 isolated decision.

I agree with JuneKnow. Your backsplash and countertops are warm tones and your cabinets are cool.

No. Ditto what Sammie J said.

Hanstone Aspen should work much better with your colors.

I love this gray counter with the cream colored cabinets and your back splash.

I’ll check out Aspen handstone. And a solid gray counter mine Jennifer said.. but that’s a bit risky never thought of that!

I agree with others, the Montauk is too cool. Either change everything (since your cabinets are already painted, it wouldn't be so bad to repaint them and change the backsplash)...

...or choose a warmer countertop color. I actually think your backsplash is fine, I like the tile shape. but that granite is definitely dating it. maybe look for something that has a marble look but in a warmer color. like this caesarstone (but I have no idea what quality this is).

    here's a rough mockup:

Post more photos of the kitchen and include the flooring. We need to see the whole kitchen so we have a better understanding of how things play together....

I know cool warm tones everywhere
    But here’s the floor

oh boy, everything is warm. literally the easiest thing to do would be to choose a marble looking counter that has warmer (off white) tone. or a gray counter. let houzzers help you choose one, since some materials perform better than others.

I just realized that you run the slight risk of ruining your backsplash when the old counter is removed (or it might cost more because they have to be extra careful with the removal). you might want to start looking into tile options just in case.

consider updating the handles and pulls too. I bet that's all you'd need to make that kitchen shine again!

The only way you are going to make your cabinets, floors, backsplash & countertop play nice together is to get a black countertop! The great equalizer! Do a nice honed finish so it will have a softer look and feel.

I would recommend a natural quartzite not a man made stone it will date just like granite. Mont blanc or Taj mahal would work also consider changing your hardware and do slab on the backsplash the same as the counters it will be timeless that way. Below is an example of natural Quartzite on the backsplash and counter.

What app are you guys using to cut and paste the countertops to see how it would look in my kitchen?
I want to try it for a gray counter or taj mahal, and maybe the bourghini gold quartz

photoshop. but I was also darkening it just a tiny bit because your photo is shadowy. simple copy and paste is not a very accurate representation when it comes to colors. it's a handy tool to narrow down the look you want, but you still need to get samples in real life. the bigger, the better.

I like the idea of a darker countertop - adds a bit of punch. Also, please lay the sample down so you can look how it is in your light and reflection.

Has anyone discussed the backsplash with you?? Do you have extra tile?? Can they remove the old top without breaking tile? ( I don't know anyone who will guaranty that )

If you really like the lighter top, then just go back and look at the samples and find the one most similar to yours but just slightly warmer - it doesn't have to be cream - just find a warmer white.

    Good luck!

my cupboards are slightly different from Cambria counters but lightning does help if it's to much contrast you won't like it

I think the original set up of counter/floors/backsplash/cabinets works. If you want a makeover - you have to update all of them. Ive made this mistake before. Like having a new suit but an old dingy white shirt
