Is 30" center tower too wide for master vanity?

I have a 104" master bath wall and am re-designing a master vanity. I like the center tower look (plus, one side is a pony wall into the toiler/shower area so I'd prefer a center tower over two smaller side towers. And I like the idea that we can each have our own stations with a center tower).

We are using kitchen cabinets for the vanity since we like the higher height.

My current idea is:

36" sink base (1 drawer that may be rendered useless, and 2 cabinet doors)

30" center base (3 drawers)

36" sink base (same as first one)

Lay a countertop over it all, and above the center base, put a 30"x12" deep wall cabinet. Actually it'd be 2 stacked on top, one at 24" height and the second at 30" height.

Do you think the 30" center is too wide? Contractor had commented that we may feel far apart when we're each at our stations, but the tower above the counter is 'recessed' at 12" depth so I'm not convinced.

We could go with 24" center tower but I just hate the idea of wasted space.

Thoughts? I've already ordered the 30" centers and may need to pay a surcharge if I reduce them to 24", but... let's just stick with the idea for now and I'll weigh the finances later!

I only have this observation: the contractor thought you would “feel too far apart when you are each at your stations.” WTH? Unless you are synchronizing your toothbrushing, who cares?

I did exactly what you are thinking but with 30” sink bases, 2 - 15” drawer stacks and 24” center tower. We love it.

Wow, looks great, thank you for the pic! I wonder if I should shrink the countertop shelves to be 24” instead of 30”, the way you did. I suppose your 30” sink base played into that decision. My sink bases are 36” though 🤔

Hi Ad Lee - what size undermount sinks did you go with here? I’m trying to pick a large enough size that still allows for good counter space between the sink and countertop edge. Thanks!

Hi there - we got Amerisink A222 and it is a bit small - wish we would’ve gotten something larger. I also wish our sink was under mounted closer to the counter edge. Not sure if that would’ve been possible. We were at the tail end of the remodel and I figured there was a “standard” the counter finisher would follow. Maybe he did, I don’t know. But I know water gets splashed everywhere… if I ever have the chance to get a kitchen cabinet in a bathroom again, I’ll make sure the sink is a good size and it gets mounted in a better position! Love love love the storage though!!!
