Need advice re. led/dimmer

Hi,

I want to buy a light fixture to use with a dimmer. On the spec sheet for the light, it says it is “non dimmable”. However it is not an integrated led light ie it requires an led lightbulb. My question is : if I install a dimmable led bulb in it, would that not make it dimmable?

Thanks!

Yes. If you can replace the lightbulb with a dimmable one, then that's fine.

Are you sure that you can replace it?

Hi Greg,

It’s a wall sconce that requires a bulb. I printed out the spec sheet and read that it requires an e12 bulb no more than 10w. It also says “non dimmable”. Since there are dimmable bulbs with e12 base, I was wondering if I could use one of those together with the lutron led dimmer (the pro I think). FYI I also emailed the company (anglepoise) and assume they will respond over the next few days. I was hoping someone here would confirm before that!

Thank you!

Can't you find this at a real store where you can ask a sales person?
