Not a bad space at all. Definitely repaint. Something less glossy also.
And regarding the counters. I think it may be smarter and possibly cheaper or similar pricing to a countertop to just get an entirely new vanity. Lowe’s is cheap!! Wayfair is also very fair. It may just be worth it even if it’s a few extra dollars.

Corian is a good choice. Perhaps just switching to a brighter white counter in the same material would be a solution.

Replace the sink with an undermount style and get a new faucet. The countertop is worth keeping. And those knobs are worth keeping too. They add a nice sparkle. 😉

I think you've got a great head start to any makeover decision.. personally, love the color of the walls, the floors look good, I would start with swapping out the counter top first.. go from there.

Unless it was done DIY, I doubt a sink could be undermounted cost effectively. I'm a Certified Corian Fabricator and run a sink replacement business.

The drop in sink is what dates this bathroom. Get a new countertop with an undermount sink.

@Joseph - can you show the OP a Corian bathroom counter and sink together?

Sometimes undertones can be tricky, especially in light colors and whites. Internet pictures don't always fully portray what we see in person. You are feeling like the counter top feels wrong in the room. Trust you gut - the counter top is wrong in this room.

Your beautiful, neutral flooring is a very light taupe with pink/purple undertones.

Yellow beige with taupe always ends up looking like yellowed tooth enamel, dirty pancake makeup or aged yellow plastic.

I can't be sure what is going on with your tub surround. If you look at the ceiling I can see you have a yellow light above the tub. If the tub surround is also yellow beige, when you remove the counter it is going to be next in line to fight with your flooring. Good news - you can pull the curtain and it goes away, but you may want to consider changing your light bulb to a 5000 k light bulb which will reduce the yellow. If it still fights with the flooring you may want to consider changing it to white in the future.

Some of the most beautiful colors with taupe are the violet grays. blue green grays, blue greens and reds that lean purple instead of orange

I shouldn't have said "always". If you perfectly match lightness and chroma and just have a hue differential you can make cream and taupe work - it is just very, very difficult to get it perfect and if it isn't perfect it is really wrong.

I think your countertop (& sink) look fine. The blue paint on the wall is making the countertop look more yellow. If you want it to look less yellow, paint the walls a warmer (or more neutral) color.

If you don't want to spend too much, I would get rid of the blue paint. Possible paint the cabinets much darker, but in a tone similar to the flooring or very dark - depending on the colors in the rest of your house. Change the faucet. Change the hardware on the cabinets. Remove the mirror and put in a large round mirror (obviously paint the wall behind the mirror).

Sometimes Habitat for Humanity Restore Stores have "like new" countertops and sinks others have removed. When you change yours, consider donating what you remove to them.

I would recommend replacing the countertop. I don't think it goes well with the white cabinet. I would also replace the mirror with a large rectangular framed mirror, but not as large as the present one. Do you need the medicine cabinet? If not, I would get rid of it. Place a round towel holder on wall by the sink. If you need all the those towel holders on big wall I would remove the hooks and install another bar like the other one, if you don't need them, replace hooks with art. Find a new home for the "home" sign, doesn't really look good in a bath. I like your wall color, the lighter blue, and would paint the entire room that color and do away with the dark blue wall...and that blue outlet cover has to go too. Why replace the toilet?...is something wrong with it? I like your shower curtain too.
