I replaced the board and removed the jumper but now it only cools. Last two ac techs dont seem to have a clue about heat pumps in Texas so any help is appreciated.

You replaced the board. Therefore the problem lies with you. No one is going to stick their neck out most likely. If I was going to throw my "over priced" two cents into this utter disaster.

More and more... this business is being based on Service History. If you have none, the method of jumping from one company to another maybe nearing an end. For good reason....

The home owners of this board clearly want to blame the tech's too, but clearly there is more involved here than that...... DIY'er brings on alot of this themselves.

Key words are "I replaced" -- last two Techs don't 'seem'. --- any tech with the brain the size of a walnut is going to know what you are trying to do. It's nothing new. Easy & simple... just play dumb. You do it so why can't anyone else?

Techs are in it for a pay check. When you go and do their job by replacing a board there isn't enough money in the job for them to "Play around with it".

Sounds like the reversing valve is good (unless you toasted it while replacing the board). Time to call a knowledgeable heat pump company to figure it out. You tried and it didn't work.
