In a nutshell, it depends where you live. Call some local builders, tell them you’re interested in building a house and you would like to know roughly, how much they are charging per square feet. Then you multiply that amount (e.g. $100.00 per square feet) for the square feet size you would like (e.g. 2.000 SF), then you will have an idea and can start planning your budget. Don’t forget to add to that architectural, engineering, permit fees plus the land costs.
