Carriage door makeover

I posted on here a couple of weeks ago. Do you think it is possible to add wood to a regular barn door to make it carriage style. I can not find my post. Everyone said NO, It would make them to heavy. But here it is! And the motor raises it just fine. We still have to do the largest door I can’t say how much I LOVE this change More to come

When I checked into this the fabricators who were customizing the garage doors were not actually using wood but PVC designed to look like wood Just be careful.

Also, because I am in Florida I have learned that they are heavy-duty rails and springs available so that weighty doors can be lifted.

We did it to wood doors but had to have the springs adjusted.

cit3 Looks Great! Cheaper to buy wood and have the springs adjusted, vs New Doors. Across the front, we were quoted a little over $6000,
