Why are they not using the front door? You keep garage doors open all the time or people use the double doors? How much do you want to spend?

Is the front door that inconvenient to the guest parking? Maybe you should work on re-routing them from the parking area to the front. IMO, this should be the family entry only. If this is the only way, then turn the steps around; move all the stuff and vehicle to the far side of the door. You might experiment with locking the doors and putting an arrow sign on the outside that points to the right entry and says "Entrance" to see how that works to reroute people.

I am also wondering the same thing, what is the reason that the front door is not able to be used currently. I think the first thing to do is to move all the stuff to the other side of the garage so that it clears more of a path way. Then i do agree with moving the car and parking it out of the way of the door. I would change the steps so that they face more towards the side door. Those would be the small changes I would make that shouldn't really cost much.

Two things...the double doors say “Enter Here”...especially with the windows...and secondly ...the stairs up ..to enter the house ....are dangerous with no railing

Show us your actual front door! If the real front door is out of commission for some reason, make it your next project. Guests should not be required to enter through the garage.

That explains the non-use of the front door. Thank you. Once the physical house is finished, your next project may be a walkway to the front door from the area where guests park, whether from the street or from a guest-parking area adjacent to the driveway. Landscaping will be part of the whole plan. Family members often enter the house from the garage, but I want my guests to approach the front door via a walkway through an attractively-landscaped yard.

From the lay of the land ...and without knowing the climate ...the landscaping should start with a few trees near the house to add dimension and possibly shade as they mature...including some fruit trees if possible and a few near the entrance from the main road to draw attention to the driveway.....flowers and borders should come later as they are more decorative than essential...on the driveway you can widen it on the right ...near the front door....guests can angle park there and come in the front....avoiding the back entrance.... where a stroll thru the garage is required...you have a generous big yard...but it needs some trees to eliminate the incorrect impression of a tiny house on a big flat lot...

This is the ideal spot for native plantings and tall grasses...things that will thrive without too much maintenance and watering...but will move with the breezes and maybe even spread a little on their own...

I would relocate the dog crate, garbage bins etc to the right side of the double doors. Leave the space between the double doors and the stairs empty. Add some indoor-outdoor carpet to make the pathway clear to guests. It will also keep your house cleaner.

If you want to decorate this area to make it more welcoming, you could paint the door into the house and/or the double doors in a colour that coordinates with your indoor space or with the garage rug. Add a "welcome guests" sign, or a wreath or anything that you would do to your front door.

I might avoid expensive ground stone or paved areas and walkways and incorporate simple pea gravel paths ...that look more natural and save lots of money...

Move the garbage on the other side of the garage. Tidy up/organize the garage a bit. Free up 4 ft on either side of the double doors and buy 2 potted cedar or tuja trees or planters and place on each side of door. You can later reuse these for your actual front door when ready

or plant the trees outside
