Could you post pics of the room? As for stackable w/d units I know Speed Queen makes these and this brand lasts forever as they're made for laundromats but also sell for personal use.

IMO a front loader washer and dryer on pedestals is the best if you don’t like bending over. I really dislike unlaoding a top loader anytime. I do not think a stacking system will be any better than the pedestals for loading and unloading . BTW I love main floor laundry they make sense that is where you spend your time during the day why run up and down at all except onece to bring the dirty stuff down and once to take the clean stuff back.

I changed my order to a washer and dryer with pedestals on both machines. There isnt room for a countertop if I have a sink. Should I have a counter over the washer/dryer even if it high?
